[Hivernacle] is defined as a prudent and respectful proposal with the history of the building itself, but which at the same time introduces surgical interventions that will be able to provide the necessary functionality for the new uses, always preserving its identity and essence. The main measures aim to:
-Make up for the deficiencies in energy efficiency, accessibility and habitability that it currently presents, respecting its heritage and urban historical context.
-Introduce innovation by preserving and improving the bioclimatic functioning of the vernacular house.
-Optimize comfort and functionality.
-Achieve objectives at a reasonable cost, with easy usability and maintenance of the building.
-Introduce the proposed uses considering the spatiality of the existing building, respecting its morphology and typological layout, so as not to cause a serious disruption to the built heritage.
The main measures proposed are:
-Introduction of a new staircase and elevator core to resolve all vertical circulations and fire evacuation between the north and west wings. Elimination of stairs that represent barriers and replacement with accessible ramps.
-Reproduction of the levels of the western wing in the southern wing (+71.94, +76.12, +80.25), to eliminate the difference in height between them. To do this, new floors are made in the southern wing, which is the one in the worst condition.
-Use of the old chapel to solve the entrance to the auxiliary spaces of the Day Centre on the ground floor, and creation of a mezzanine for the location of service spaces of the Youth House.
-Introduction of a new greenhouse-buffer piece that can solve the circulations between the different rooms of the day centre, but that at the same time acts as a bioclimatic motor both in winter and summer.
-Demolition of the auxiliary constructions of the garden, to create a large open space, with uses destined for the Day Centre (gardens, games, physical exercise).
