Passive strategies

Atmosphere and energy

Zero Energy Building design can be addressed in several ways:
a. Trusting on active strategies capable to generate enough energy to satisfy the whole building demand (regardless they are high or low);
b. Considering that the ‘cleanest’ energy is that not consumed. To this effect it is necessary to consider a large number of passive strategies (orientation, building form, envelope, etc.) to try to minimize the energy demand of a building according to the proposed use. To summarise, taking advantage of the climate and fighting its disbenefits to optimize the building performance.
Our personal commitment is to bet for this last positioning, trying to exploit the advantages that the passive environmental design allows. This requires a very deep research on the design itself, in order to use all its potentialities.
